We look forward to welcoming you to Fairways Bed and Breakfast Crewkerne Somerset Eco-Friendly Luxury B & B Accommodation in Crewkerne, Somerset. We were inspected and selected by Sawday's in June 2014 and are located just off the A30 and only a 10-minute drive from Wedding Venues Haselbury Mill, Axnoller House and Dillington House. You can recharge your Electric Car overnight, as well as your own personal batteries here at Fairways Crewkerne Bed and Breakfast in Somerset!
Tim and Sarah, Cheesemongers in Surrey for 20 years, are offering Bed and Breakfast high up on a hill just on the edge of Crewkerne in Somerset, just off the A30. Fairways is all about the food, the light, the peace and quiet and the view. You can switch off completely. Our main aim is to exceed your expectations. If you can't view the video here on Vimeo, please go to our YouTube link!
You have the use of your own private Guest Sitting-room/Breakfast-room. You can walk out through the French windows onto a large expanse of oak decking, from where there's a truly stunning view. We think that this light and airy comfortable private guest area with its own woodburning-stove for those colder months adds to the relaxing atmosphere at Fairways.
We have two spacious double bedrooms with underfloor-heated en suite bathrooms. Our nightly rate includes a gourmet breakfast, served at your own individual table in the private Guest Sitting-room, or on the decking in the Summer months, weather permitting.
Chestnut Bedroom, above, can either be made up as a 6ft Superking double or the beds can be split and made up as two 3ft single beds. The brand-new luxurious handmade Vispring zip-and-link pocket sprung medium-soft mattresses arrived just in time for the 2016 season, and Tim has made the new ash beds and bedhead in his workshop. The bed is made up here with huge squashy pillows and 100% cotton bed linen.
During the late Spring and Summer months the bed is made up with a gorgeous silk filled 4-tog lightweight duvet. There's a Pure DAB radio on the bedside table, a hairdrier and an iron and ironing-board in the wardrobe. This bedroom has a modern en suite bathroom with large bath, over-the-bath pressurised shower, underfloor heating, luxurious white bathrobes, plenty of fluffy white towels and a range of complimentary eco-friendly guest toiletries. You've a tea tray with a good selection of green and black teas, as well as individually wrapped fresh caffeinated and decaffeinated coffee bags from the Little Coffee Bag Company. It goes without saying that you have fresh milk for your early morning cuppa.
Willow Bedroom, above, has a fabulous handmade 5ft Kingsize Vispring Pocket Sprung mattress. During the late Spring and Summer months, the bed is made-up with a luxurious Silk Filled 4 tog Summer Duvet, lovely squashy pillows and 100% cotton bed linen. There's a Pure DAB radio beside the bed, a hairdrier in the chest of drawers and an iron and ironing-board in the wardrobe. The stylish en suite has a lovely walk-in shower with a large pressurised rain showerhead and a hand-held shower, underfloor-heating, sumptuous white bathrobes, lots of fluffy white towels and a range of complimentary eco-friendly guest toiletries. Of course there's also a tea tray with a selection of black and green teas, and individually wrapped fresh caffeinated and decaffeinated coffee bags from the Little Coffee Bag Company. We always make sure that you have fresh milk so that you can make a morning brew. We know that you'll sleep well in either of our bedrooms!
If you have any mobilitiy issues, Willow Bedroom is probably the better choice of our two bedrooms, with its easy-access walk-in shower with two grab-rails as well as a seat that can be positioned inside the shower tray if you have difficulties standing.
Both bedrooms have beautiful modern white bathrooms. The photo above is Chestnut's en suite with big bath and over-the-bath pressurised shower. Willow is similar but with a pressurised walk-in rain-shower rather than a bath.
All of our bed linen, towels and bathrobes are 100% cotton for a luxurious experience ...
And of course it's always good to meet our visitors who've found us on Sawday's, TripAdvisor and Google ...
We understand that you may not wish to share a table with unfamiliar guests, so there are two individual tables in the guest sitting room. The breakfast tables are laid looking out of the French windows. If you look carefully through the windows you can see that the large borders are fenced off with chicken-wire. This is not because we have chickens, but because we are in the country with millions of wild rabbits who will undoubtedly eat all of the newly planted garden! Hopefully, all of this fencing will be taken down in a couple of years' time when the plants have matured a bit. From the breakfast table, you can watch the birds (and the rabbits) and plan your day. On a lovely summer morning, you might even have breakfast outside on the decking.
If you're fancying something other than a traditional Full English breakfast, here's an alternative Spanish-style breakfast for you! The scrambed eggs are from a local farm within line of sight, the bread is homemade in our kitchen, and the chorizo is from just across the border in Dorset. Other options such as Smoked Undyed Haddock or Smoked Organic Salmon are also available.
Smoked Haddock Benedictine for breakfast made with local organic spinach, smoked undyed haddock, local eggs from up the road and all topped off with sumptuous freshly made hollandaise sauce.
Mushroom Filled Buckwheat Pancake with local poached eggs for veggie breakfast!
Tim's up early every morning baking these homemade beauties for your breakfast ...
Whether you are Coeliac, Vegetarian, Vegan, Dairy Intolerant or whatever, we'll do our very best to accommodate your dietary needs - just let us know. We don't have an Alcohol Licence, so you'll need to bring your own bottle of "tipple", and we'll provide you with glasses and a corkscrew. You've your own SMEG mini-fridge in your sitting room where you can chill wines in time for supper. You can be sure that you'll eat and sleep well when you come to stay with us here at Fairways.

We're very close to Cricket St Thomas Golf Club, 25 minutes from the Jurassic Coast and there are many National Trust properties locally for you to visit. 2nd April 2016 - And an exciting moment when the lovely Peppercorn Class A1 Pacific 60163 ‘Tornado’ came through at the bottom of the field on its way from Waterloo to Exeter.

Winter 2014 project : Tim made a new front door for Fairways in time for the 2015 season.
So that you recognise us ... here we are in the lovely Somerset sunshine with a backdrop of peaceful and beautiful Soil Association Organic farmland.
26th March 2016 - After a wet and windy day, the Saturday before Easter Sunday, we were rewarded with this stunning sunset. Photo taken from the decking outside the guest sitting room.
Green Credentials at Fairways
We've 21 PV panels on the roof, and are doing what we can to be environmentally-friendly. All the lightbulbs in the house (except for 4) are low energy. There's a sunpipe in one of the corridors to provide daylight. Appliances are energy efficient and most of our household waste is recycled. Loos all have dual flushes. Our immersion heater is connected to our PV panels so that we produce most of our hot water during the day without resorting to the oil tank. There's a woodburning-stove in your guest sitting-room.
We can also offer you overnight free use of our Pod Point 3.7kW Electric Vehicle Charger which is compatible with all IEC62192 Mode 3 enabled vehicles (subject to charging connector type compatibility) as follows:
- Nissan Leaf
- Toyota Plug-In Prius PHEV
- Vauxhall/Opel Ampera
- Mitsubishi iMiEV
- Citroen C-Zero
- Peugeot Ion
- Ford Connect EV
- Renault Kangoo
- Renault Fluence
Have a look on the national Open Charge Map to see how close we are to the A303.
